Andreas Taki Michaelides was born in Limassol on the 29th December 1952. His parents are Takis Michaelides and Stella Hadjipavlou and he is the youngest of four siblings: the late Antonis & Michalis and Christodoulos Michaelides. He is married to Nata Lemi Michaelidou and have two children: Marina (married to Giorgos Papageorgiou) and Dimitris (married to Stefani Kyriakidou), and 5 grandchildren: Andreas, Nata, Christos, Elis and Chrysostomos.
He studied economics and then he completed a Master Degree in Business Administration at the City University in London. He has since 1978 been the Managing Director of the Hadjipavlou Christ & Sons Ltd family company, specializing in the production and sale of spirits.
He is very actively involved in the community affairs in Cyprus and mainly in Limassol by occupying a position in the board of various sports, trade, government institutions and charity organisations but also along his political party involvement for many years. In 2011 he was elected DISY MP in Limassol constituency, while in 2016 his re-election was narrowly lost for 15 votes.
He has been serving in the football sector for decades as a football player, a coach and by occupying various executive positions. He was the coach of the National Team but he was also the coach of many other teams, all the big sports clubs in Cyprus inclusive, and specifically: K.N. Maronites, Apollon (Coach B), APEL PITSILIAS, National U21, Limassol ARIS (twice), National Team for Men, Omonia, APOEL, AEL (three times), Anorthosis Famagusta, Pafos, Nea Salamina, AEK, Apollon.
